The Ashbury pouches draw their inspiration from the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. This neighborhood in the city of San Francisco, California, was much more than just a neighborhood; it embodied the essence of the Flower Power movement, becoming a global symbol of the quest for peace, love, and social transformation.
In 1967, Haight-Ashbury was the setting for the "Summer of Love" and became the heart of the hippie counterculture, attracting thousands of young people in search of freedom, artistic expression, and new experiences. The neighborhood symbolized a refuge for those who rejected traditional social norms.
The "Ashbury" pouches are a collaboration between my mother and me, the creator of this brand. When I was little, my mother spent her time crocheting and knitting. Of course, I asked her to make all the little ideas that sprouted in my head.
While tidying up, she came across the yarn scraps from these projects, and it naturally occurred to me to collaboratively upcycle them.
